The Growth of Electric Vehicles and our Tesla Road Trip to Cloudforest One
According to the SEAI, at the end of 2021 – there were 45,000 electric vehicles in Ireland. As well as this, new electric cars registration has tripled in the last three years (8,646 in 2021 compared to 4,013 in 2020 and 3,444 in 2019).
In January 2022, New electric car registrations reached their highest month on record with 2,714 registered in January 2022, which is an +178% increase from January 2021. This move towards electric vehicles has been in the pipeline for many years as individuals & businesses have sought ways to reduce their carbon footprint in the face of the major climate crisis we face.
The Birch Tree
In Celtic times, the Birch tree was a symbol of love, with Birch branches frequently being placed above cradles in order to protect the baby within. Birch was also known to symbolise renewal and purification. Commonly known as a ‘Pioneering Tree’, Birch is seen as an opportunist which takes over areas that have been abandoned or have been newly cleared. This was how it spread across Ireland thousands of years ago.
Cloudforests March Sports Round-Up
March was a busy one for all of our community teams. There was great success all around with our Shelbourne Academy Teams. While at the Cloudforests Endurance Team, there was some wet & mucky training going on.

Cloudforests Endurance Team Reveal Their Brand New Kit
It was an exciting weekend for the Cloudforests Endurance Team (The End Team) as they announced their new kit for the season ahead.
The design of the kit consists of a lovely grey & green jersey, with the Endurance Team logo on the back and front, with black cycling shorts with the logo on the side.

Good luck to everyone involved at Shelbourne tonight as they play their first game of the 2022 season against St. Pats, in a huge Dublin derby at Tolka Park.
