Northwood Technology Raises Over €5,000 For Two Incredible Charities

It was an amazing week for everyone at Northwood Technology last week as they presented two cheques worth €5,300 combined, to two incredible charitable organisations; Wexford MarineWatch and Cork City Hospitals Children's Club.

Wexford MarineWatch is a voluntary organisation that provides Suicide Prevention Patrols along Wexford Quays, Estuary & Harbour. Established in December 2012, their primary objective was to try and reduce the high level of deaths by suicide in the Wexford Harbour and Bridge area. Wexford MarineWatch now has 140 trained volunteers who give up just one night of their time on a rota-basis each month to assist anyone in difficulty and provide intervention to anyone considering self-harm.

In September 2021, 3 the Northwood Technology team, Mark Coughlan, Kevin Anthony Lynch & Keith McCarthy, took part in a 10,000 foot Charity Skydive in order to raise much-needed funds for Wexford MarineWatch. On Wednesday last, they presented a cheque for €5,000 to Chairman George Lawlor & CEO Frank Flanagan of Marine Watch.

As if this wasn’t enough, in the same week, Gary Hennessy & Paudie Corkery from the Cork Branch of Northwood Technology presented a cheque to Councillor Thomas Moloney in aid of Cork City Hospitals Children's Club. The Cork City Hospitals Children's Club was founded in 1992 by a small group of volunteers who took a group of deserving children on the trip of a lifetime to Disneyland. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength and now has over 40 volunteers. Throughout the year, the Cork City Hospitals Children's Club brings sick and deserving children from CUH, Mercy Hospital, St. Gabriel's, and the Cork Deaf Association on numerous trips, as well as hosting many fun and exciting events.

Well done to all involved in these incredible fundraising efforts from Northwood, we are delighted to have such a generous community full of CoolPartners like Northwood Technology!
