This weekend, one of Cloudforests Cyclists, Paul Caldwell has won Irelands first ever Beach race!
This is a fantastic achievement considering the changing conditions on the day, with 45kmph crosswinds.

Gift Tree Update - Live Stream
A new Axis Communications IP HD CCTV bullet camera fitted last week will stream high definition video from our gift tree woodland starting next week.
A new members area that is under construction on our website will allow all our gift tree members to see live video, get regular updates and virtually visit the gift tree area. This area is being prepared for planting in March and will feature Oak, Rowan, Alder, and Birch trees.
The Rowan Tree
Rowan Trees are an often overlooked native Irish tree. Although they are smaller than many other native trees, this does not make them any less beautiful. Typically they grow to a height of about 15 meters. In Irish, Rowan tree can be translated as Caorthann, which is also the Irish Translation for Mountain Ash. This is due to the fact that their leaves are very similar to the common ash tree, however, the trees are not related in any way.

For the month of February, we put it to you to take on 28 minutes of exercise for 28 consecutive days. It’s not only our physical health we need to look after, but our mental health too. By taking this on as a group, we will motivate, encourage and probably laugh quite a lot. Run, walk, crawl, take the dog out, take the kids out, dance, jump, swim, whatever takes your fancy.

Ruth's cycling journey didn't begin until late 2016 when a friend took her mountain biking and she was instantly hooked.

For example, Ballyfarnon (Béal Átha Fearnáin) in Country Roscommon translates to Mouth of the Ford of the Alder, and County Wexford, the town of Ferns comes from the Irish Word; Fearna (Alder Trees).

This point has recently been underlined by Forest Industries Ireland (FII), who have said forestry could potentially provide over 300 million tonnes of additional carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration by 2050
