Transdev Dublin Light Rail Ltd (CoolPartner 40) Welcomes Children From St Vincent's Developmental Education Centre to Luas Broombridge Depot
Last week, Transdev Dublin Light Rail Ltd. (CoolPartner 40) had the honour of welcoming students from the Development Education Centre, St Vincent’s, Navan Road, to the Luas Broombridge Depot in Dublin.
Transdev Dublin Light Rail Ltd (TDLR) is the operator and maintainer of Luas, Dublin’s light rail network. Together with their teachers, carers and members from TDLR Ltd, the students from St Vincent’s were welcomed onto a private Luas tram that brought them into the city centre, where they enjoyed lunch, and then it brought them back home.
St. Vincent's Special School is a co-educational school that caters for pupils, ages 5-18 years, who, on psychological testing, are found to be functioning within the level of Moderate General Learning Disability.
Adriaan Pretorius, Depot Manager at TDLR, said “the kids really enjoyed the journey on the tram. It’s the whole experience of boarding the tram and going somewhere that gives them a lot of joy. The movement of the tram and the big windows gives them a lot of sensory feedback – it’s like a rollercoaster ride. It’s the second last day of school, so a day trip like this is a nice way to finish their school year. It’s also a nice trip for the carers and teachers who do fantastic work in the school.”
We’re so proud to have Transdev Dublin Light Rail Ltd. & their incredible staff members in our community of businesses, especially when we see stories like this. Keep up the amazing work.
