One of our most valuable native Irish trees, the Hawthorn occurs in our hedgerows and woodland on all of our sites.

Bees are some of the most important creatures in the animal kingdom. They are pollinators, who ensure food security and contribute significantly to the mitigation of climate change and the conservation of the environment. Pollinators such as bees, birds, and bats, affect 35 percent of the world's crop production, increasing the outputs of 87 of the leading food crops worldwide.

Phantom forests are forests which have either failed to come to fruition either because they have died or they have been lost through deforestation. The Philippine's National Greening Programme, which we spoke about earlier, is a prime example of a phantom forest, which was doomed to fail from the beginning. 

Today, we are delighted to announce that we have become the first private enterprise to undertake the role of a Voluntary Conservation Area, with the installation of our first beehives at Cloudforest One in Lahinch, Co. Clare.
