A Great Weekend For Shelbourne & The Red Wood

Last weekend was an unbelievable one for Shelbourne, Cloudforests, The Red Wood & The Academy! Both senior teams had huge wins, at home & away. Meanwhile, all of the Cloudforests sponsored teams, had resounding wins over their oppositions, while representing the Cloudforest brand impeccably, as always.

The Red Wood Forest

The weekend got off to a dream start at Tolka Park, with the Senior Mens team first home win of the season, with goals from Jack Moylan and Sean Boyd giving Shels a 2-1 victory. Damien Duff, serving the first of his three-game ban following a red card last week, watched from the back of the stand behind the goal where the opening goals were scored. But, this didn’t affect the result, as the Men’s team came away with all 3 points. They also added 2 Trees to the Red Wood, with their 2 goals, while the 2,500 fans in attendance added 5 more Trees.

Then, on Saturday, the Shelbourne Senior Women’s Team had a massive win over fellow WNL title contenders Peamount United at Tolka Park. One goal from Jessie Stapleton was enough to separate the two teams, as the game finished 1-0. Despite this result, it could’ve been more as Shelbourne hit the woodwork three times in the game. In the end, one goal was enough for the team, as they extend their advantage at the top of the table to 5 points. Their one goal also added another 1 Tree to the Red Wood.
